Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to Southgate Primary School

Having recently become an Academy with GLF Schools, I am privileged to lead Southgate in the next stage of it’s exciting journey.

Choosing the right school for your child’s education is an important decision.  At Southgate, we carefully consider what children will need to know in order to be successful in an ever-changing future. This includes what knowledge and skills they will need. Whilst we have high academic aspirations for all our children, it is equally important that they grow, learn and flourish into well-rounded individuals, with an intellectual curiosity to become good learners.  We aim for our children to know how to persevere when they are challenged, how to strive for success but equally for children that know how to win with dignity and loose with grace.  We want our children to see every mistake as a first attempt in their learning and we place great importance on respect, tolerance and teamwork.

We have an approachable, talented and caring staff team who understand the importance of relationships and innovatively create opportunities for every child to shine and discover what they are good at.  Through inspirational teaching and a broad, balanced and creative curriculum, our children receive memorable experiences both in and out of the classroom.

We hope our website gives you a flavour of life at Southgate.  We welcome visitors and ask you to contact the school office and we will arrange a tour. If you have any questions or enquiries, please contact Miss Donovan in our school office, who will direct you to the right member of the team.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
