Values and Ethos

At Southgate Primary school we work together to ensure

"All children develop the skills, experiences and aspirations for success."

We want every child to succeed and we give them opportunities and experiences which opens their eyes to the possibilities ahead of them and provides the skills and knowledge to help them reach their full potential.
We do this in a variety of ways: through our creative curriculum, which follows the National Curriculum and links learning together to make it meaningful for the children. We have Enabling Enterprise projects, with real life problem solving skills and links with the business world, to ensure children are aiming high when thinking about their futures. We are at the cutting edge of technology, investing in ipads and other technology which allows children to record their learning and ideas in different ways, keeping up with and being part of the 21st Century World.

Our school motto says:

"We support each other and learn together"

We want our pupils to be well rounded citizens of the future, who aspire to achieve success, but also work collaboratively with others, respect other people and have an intrinsic moral purpose. We have core values at our school which incorporate our focus on British Values and our Rights Respecting School ethos. These are continually revisited, in class through PSHE, through our Values assemblies and throughout our general school ethos, where children are recognised for following our school values and supporting others.

Please see the document "Our Values" below for more information about the values we follow within school.
