Ofsted Report confirms Southgate is a 'GOOD' school

It is with great pleasure we can now confirm the results of our recent Ofsted Inspection which took place on 3rd and 4th October 2023. 

The Inspectors that visited our school carried out their inspection over the two days, which included deep dives into various subjects, lesson visits, discussions with staff/pupils, meetings with school leaders and scutiny of work undertaken by children.

The inspectors concluded that Southgate Primary School is GOOD in all areas (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Early Years Provision), resulting in an Overall Effectiveness of GOOD for the school. A copy of the report is avaiable here.

We would like invite parents to a meeting on Thursday 23rd November at 2.30pm in which we will celebrate the strengths of the school and share with you our identified next steps.

Thank you to everyone within the school community and the wider GLF Schools team for their support since I joined in January. We have come a long way, but this is just the beginning of our journey to excellence, ensuring all children at Southgate grow, learn and flourish.
