Year 5 - What a Wonderful World

Year 5 kick started their new topic - ‘What a Wonderful World’ - with some great activities. First came a challenge: to draw a world map from memory! This was incredibly difficult but everyone put in a great effort, although there were quite a few countries missing on them (and a few made up ones) we all really enjoyed the challenge! We zoomed around the Earth on Google maps and got to see all of the countries we have always wanted to go to and that we have been lucky enough to visit already. We also made a project for an international calendar company. We had to design and make a calendar that showed off how great our world is. We chose pictures for each month and wrote about why we had chosen them. We then thought about what we wanted to know about our wonderful world and wrote down loads of amazing questions. Fingers crossed we can answer them all before the end of the half term!
