Ofsted
Following our Ofsted inspection on 4th and 5th of November 2019, I am delighted to share the final insopection report. Please click HERE to view the report.
We are very proud of the progress Southgate has made since it’s last inspection.
The report tells you what it is like for your child to attend this school, what the school does well and what it needs to do better.
We are especially delighted that Ofsted recognised “Leaders have high aspirations for all pupils and have been working to improve the school” and that the children ‘‘like school because they have good relationships and learn about lots of different things.’’
Inspectors identified that ‘’The children show ‘great respect for each other and listen attentively to their teachers in class’ and ‘’Pupils feel safe in school’’
I would like to thank you for your support and contribution to the inspection process; inspectors spoke to many of you on the playground after school and took into account responses to the online questionnaire (Parent View).
We could not be more proud of our children and staff and their wonderful achievements; it is fantastic to have their efforts recognised by Ofsted. They stated ‘There is a noticeable determination to continue improvement and there is a sense of optimism within the school.’
With best wishes,
Mrs B Homer
Headteacher
